2027 Satellite Launch Deal Between VinSpace and SpaceX

  • VinSpace, a Vietnamese aerospace company, has signed an agreement with SpaceX to place its initial satellites into orbit in 2027.
  • These satellites will be launched via SpaceX's Transporter rideshare mission.
  • This arrangement involves sending payloads from multiple customers into space on a single rocket, allowing launch costs to be shared among all participants.
  • Established in November 2025, VinSpace had an initial capital of 300 billion dong (approximately 11.4 million US dollars).
  • The company is part of Vingroup, Vietnam's leading private business conglomerate, and is majority-owned by Vingroup founder Pham Nhat Vuong.
  • VinSpace had previously stated that it would handle the research, development, and operations of its satellites in-house. In April 2026, the company also unveiled plans for the development of its first microsatellite and its scheduled launch in 2027.
  • SpaceX's Transporter program offers a cost-effective launch option for small satellites. Under the rideshare model, satellites from multiple customers are deployed into orbit during a single mission, potentially reducing expenses compared to dedicated launches. This service is considered particularly beneficial for small and emerging space programs.
