Veteran Bollywood director Kuku Kohli passes away

• Renowned Hindi film director Avtar 'Kuku' Kohli passed away in Mumbai at the age of 77.
• He suffered a severe heart attack on August 25, 2026, and was subsequently taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri, where he breathed his last.
• News of his passing was shared by Abhay Sinha, President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association, and filmmaker Ashok Pandit.
• Kuku Kohli made his debut as a director in the Hindi film industry in 1991 with the movie Phool Aur Kaante.
• The film became immensely popular at the time and marked the beginning of Ajay Devgn's acting career.
