निर्देश- प्रश्न संख्या (170 से 176) निम्नलिखितं गद्यांशं पठित्वा सप्तप्रश्नानां दत्तविकल्पेषु यथोचितं उत्तरं दीयताम् - कस्मिंश्चिद्वने भासुरको नाम सिंह: प्रतिवसति स्म। अथासौ वीर्य्यति रेकान्नित्यमेवानेकान् मृगशशकादीन् व्यापादयन्न उपरराम। अथान्येद्युस्तद्वनजा: सर्वे सारङ्गवराहमहिषशशकादयो मिलित्वा तमभ्युपेत्य प्रोचु: - ‘‘स्वामिन! किमनेन सकलमृगवधेन नित्यमेव ? यतस्तव एकेनापि मृगेण तृप्तिर्भवति। तत् क्रियतामस्माभि: सह समयधर्मं :। अद्य प्रभृति तव अत्रोपविष्टस्य जातिक्रमेण प्रतिदिनमेको मृगो भक्षणार्थं समेष्यति। एवं कृते तव तावत्प्राणयात्रा क्लेशं विना अपि भविष्यति, अस्माकञ्च पुन: सर्वोच्छेदनं न स्यात् । तदेष राजधर्मोऽनुष्ठीयताम् । अथ तेषां तद्वचनमाकरण्य भासुरक आह-‘‘अहो! सत्यमभिहितं भवद्भि: परं यदि ममोपविष्टस्यात्र नित्यमेव नैक: श्वापद: समागमिष्यति तन्नूनं सर्वानपि भक्षयिष्यामि’’। अथ ते तथैव प्रतिज्ञाय निर्वृत्तिभाज: तत्रैव वने निर्भया: पर्य्यटन्ति। एकश्च प्रतिदिनं क्रमेण याति। वृद्धो वा वैराग्ययुक्तो वा, शोकग्रस्तो वा, पुत्रकलत्रनाशभीतो वा, तेषां मध्यात्तस्य भोजनार्थं मध्याह्नसमये उपतिष्ठते। अथ कदाचित् जातिक्रमाच्छशकस्य अवसर: समायात:। स समस्त मृगै: प्रेरितोऽनिच्छन्नपि मन्दं मन्दं गत्वा तस्य वधोपायं चिन्तयन् वेलातिक्रमं कृत्वा व्याकुलितहृदयो यावत् गच्छति तावत् मार्गे गच्छता कूप : संदृष्ट:। यावत्को पोपरि याति तावतकू पमध्ये आत्मन: प्रतिबिम्बं ददर्श। दृष्ट्वा च तेन हृदये चिन्तितं। ‘‘यद्भव्य उपायोऽस्ति, अहं भासुरकं प्रकोप्य स्वबुद्धया अस्मिन कूपे पातयिष्यामि’’ अथासौ दिनशेषे भासुरकसमीपं प्राप्त:। सिंहोऽपि वेलातिक्रमेण क्षुत्क्षामकण्ठ: कोपाविष्ट: सृक्किणी परिलेलिहन् व्यचिन्तयत्। ‘‘अहो! प्रातराहाराय नि:सत्त्वं वनं मया कर्तव्यं ।’’ निम्नलिखितेषु क: न अव्यय: ?
