निर्देश- प्रश्न संख्या (245 से 252) निम्नलिखितं गद्यांशं पठित्वा नवप्रश्नानां उचितंं विकल्पं चित्वा प्रश्नानाम् उत्तराणि दातव्यानि। पुरा वृत्रासुर : देवान् भृशमपीडयत्। इन्द्रादय: ते देवा: प्रजापतिमुपागच्छन्। तान् समागतान् दृष्ट्वा प्रजापति: आगमनस्य कारणमपृच्छत् । ते प्रत्यवदन् - ‘‘प्रभो! वृत्रासुर: अस्मान् पीडयति। तस्य शक्ते : पुरत: वयं स्थातुं न शक्नुम:। अत: भीता: वयमत्रागता:। प्रजापते अभणत् - ‘‘हरि: एव अस्मान् रक्षितुं समर्थ:। तमेव शरणं गच्छाम:।’’ प्रजापति: देवै: साकं वैकुण्ठं गत्वा हरये सर्वमपि वृत्तान्तं न्यवेदयत् । तत् श्रुत्वा हरि: अकथयत् - ‘‘भो: प्रजापति! देवा: महर्षे: दधीचे: अन्तिकं गत्वा तस्मात् अस्थियाचनं कुर्वन्तु। स: नूनमस्थीनि दास्यति। तै: अस्थिभि: वङ्काायुधं घटयत। तेन वृत्रं हन्तु युद्धे असुरान् जेतुं च पारयिष्यथ।’’ देवा: दधीचे: आश्रमं प्राविशन्। तत्र ते अनेकै : ऋषिभि: परिवृतमग्निमिव प्रभया देदीप्यमानं दधीचिमपश्यन् । ते ऋषीन् दधीचिं च दृष्ट्वा अनमन्। दधीचि: इन्द्रं- ‘‘किमर्थं यूयमत्रागता:’’ इत्यपृच्छत् । इन्द्र: सादरमकथयत् - ‘‘महर्षे, वयं वृत्रेण पीड़िता : त्वां शरणमुपागता:। कृपया त्वमस्मभ्यं स्वानि अस्थीनि प्रयच्छ। घटयाम तै: अस्थिभि: आयुधम्, येन वयं वृत्रं हन्तुं पारयाम:।’’ दधीचि: इन्द्रस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा नितरामतुष्यत् । स: अकथयत् - ‘‘भो: इन्द्र! अद्य मम जीवितं सफलं जातं यत् मे शरीरं युष्माकमुपकाराय भवति। परोपकारार्थमिदं शरीरम् । अहं युष्मभ्यमिदं शरीरं सहर्षं प्रयच्छामि, स्वीकुरुत।’’ स: नेत्रे निमील्य समाधिस्थ: अभवत् । देवा: तस्य अस्थीनि आदाय तै: वङ्काायुधमरचयन् । तेन च इन्द्र: युद्धे वृत्रासुरममारयत् । एवं देवा: दधीचे: औदार्येण वृत्रभयात् मुक्ता : अभवन्। निम्नलिखितेषु पदेषु कं पदं गद्यांंशे प्रयुक्तस्य ‘अलीनाम्’ पदस्य पर्यायवाची विद्यते। उपयुक्तं विकल्पं चिनुत।
