निर्देश (प्र.सं. 113-114) : निम्नलिखित गद्यांश को ध्यानपूर्वक पढि़ए और प्रश्नों के सही उत्तर विकल्प का चयन कीजिए। इस युग के युवक के चित्त को जिस नई विद्या ने सबसे अधिक प्रभावित किया है, वह है मनोविश्लेषण। मनोविज्ञान और मनोविश्लेषण शास्त्र नि:सन्देह पठनीय शास्त्र है। इन्होंने हमारे मन के भीतर चलती रहने वाली अलक्ष्य धाराओं का ज्ञान कराया है, परन्तु यह बात ध्यान में रखनी चाहिए कि ‘‘साँच मिले तो साँच है, न मिले तो झूठ’’ वाली बात सार्वदेशिक होती है। मनोविश्लेषण शास्त्र मनुष्यों की उद्भासित विचार निधियों का एक अकिंचन अंश मात्र है। जीवन शास्त्र और पदार्थ विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में हमें जो नीवन तथ्य मालूम हुए हैं, उसके साथ इस शास्त्र के अनुसन्धानों का सामंजस्य स्थापित नहीं किया जा सकता। फिर भी इतना तो निश्चित है कि मानव विश्लेषण के आचार्यों के प्रचारित तत्त्ववाद में से कुछ विचार इन दिनों वायुमण्डल में व्याप्त हैं। नवीन साहित्यकार उन्हें अनायास पा जाता है, परन्तु इन विचारों को संयमित और नियंत्रित करने वाले प्रतिकूलगामी शास्त्रीय परिणाम उसे इतनी आसानी से नहीं मिलते। इसका परिणाम यह हुआ है कि हमारा नवीन साहित्यकार इन विचारों के मायाजाल को आसानी से काट नहीं पाता। वह कुछ इस प्रकार सोचता है कि अब चेतन चित्त की शक्तिशाली सत्ता हमारे चेतन चित्त के विचारों और कार्यों को रूप दे रही है। हम तो कुछ सोच समझ रहे हैं, वस्तुत: वैसे ही सोचने और समझने का हेतु हमारे अंजाम में हमारे ही अवचेतन चित्त वर्तमान है और यह तो हम सोच रहे है, समझ रहे हैं और सोच-समझकर कर रहे हैं। इन बातों का अभिमान करने वाला हमारा चेतन चित्त कितना नगण्य है, अदृश्य में वर्तमान हमारी अवदमित वासनाओं को प्रसुप्त कामनाओं के महासमुद्र में यह दृश्य चेतन चित्त बोतल के कॉर्क के समान उतर रहा है, अदृश्य महासमुद्र की प्रत्येक तरंग इसे अभिभूत कर जाती है।हमारे चेतन चित्त के विचारों और कार्यों को -
