• It has been reported that the Census 2027 will be the 16th census overall and the eighth census since independence.
• The Indian census is described as the world's largest administrative and statistical exercise.
• The Census 2027 will also include a caste enumeration.
• The Census 2027 will be conducted digitally for the first time.
• Data collection will be done using a mobile application available on both Android and iOS platforms.
