INS Androth, the second anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft (ASW-SWC), was commissioned into the Indian Navy at the Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard.
The commissioning ceremony was held at the Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard under the leadership of Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar.
INS Androth was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.
The ship is built with over 80% indigenous content, supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
It is designed to strengthen India's anti-submarine warfare capabilities in coastal waters.
The vessel will strengthen coastal defense and protect India's maritime interests from underwater threats.
INS Androth's induction follows the earlier induction of ships such as INS Arnala, Nistar, Udaygiri, and Nilgiri.
