The Mughal Emperor during the 1857 revolt in India was Bahadur shah II (Bahadur shah zafar) who was the 19th and the last Mughal emperor. The Revolt of 1857 was a nationalist uprising in British-ruled India against the east India Company. Bahadur shah Zafar was arrested and exiled to Burma after the revolt was suppressed. He died in 1862.
