निर्देश (96-100) : एक गद्यांश दिया गया है। गद्यांश के आधार पर पाँच प्रश्न दिए गए हैं। गद्यांश को ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़ें तथा प्रत्येक प्रश्न के चार विकल्पों में से सही विकल्प चुने। अनु+शासन इन दो शब्दों के योग से अनुशासन शब्द की रचना होती है। इसका अर्थ है शासन के पीछे चलना अर्थात् निर्धारित नियमों का पालन करना। कार्य में व्यवस्था बनाए रखने अथवा कार्य को व्यवस्थित ढंग से करने के लिए अनुशासन का पालन करना आवश्यक होता है। सृष्टि का कण-कण अनुशासन के बंधन में बंधा है, समय के अनुशासन में बंधा है। ऋत-चक्र दिन और रात का क्रम भी अनुशासन की कहानी को ही दोहराता है। अनुशासन का पालन करना निर्माण का सूचक है तथा अनुशासन का उल्लंघन करना विनाश का। वास्तव में जीवन का ही दूसरा नाम है अनुशासन। मनुष्य बचपन में जिस-जिस आचार-विचार को ग्रहण करता है तथा जिस प्रकार का व्यवहार करता है वही उसके भावी जीवन की पूँजी होती है। इसी पूँजी का उपयोग करके वह सफलता के सोपान पर चढ़ सकता हैं एक प्रसिद्ध कहावत है- ‘अनुशासन ही जीवन है।’ इस कथन में छिपी सच्चाई पग पग पर प्रकट होती है। व्यक्तिगत जीवन के साथ-साथ सामाजिक जीवन में भी अनुशासन की आवश्यकता को नकारा नहीं जा सकता। अनुशासनहीन समाज में सभी सदस्य उच्छृंखल और स्वेच्छाचारी बन जाते हैं। अनुशासन व्यक्ति का मानसिक और बौद्धिक विकास करता है। खेल जीवन को अनुशासन में रहना सिखाते हैं। अनुशासनबद्ध क्रिकेट टीम देश के लिए खेलकर उसका नाम ऊँचा करती है। अनुशासन का पालन करके सैनिक देश की रक्षा करते हैं। वैज्ञानिक अनुशासन के आदर्श हैं। विद्यालयों से व्यक्ति अनुशासन का पालन करना सीखता है। मनुष्य सफलता के सोपान पर कैसे चढ़ सकता है।
