Vice Admiral Sanjay Sadhu, AVSM, NM, has been appointed Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition with effect from 28 November 2025.
He succeeds Vice Admiral Rajaram Swaminathan, AVSM, NM, who retired on 30 November 2025 after 38 years of distinguished service to the nation.
He was commissioned into the Indian Navy in 1987 and holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies.
His career spanning over 38 years includes key operational, staff, and yard appointments.
He has served on the aircraft carrier INS Viraat and the frontline warships INS Brahmaputra and INS Dunagiri.
Prior to his promotion to Flag Officer, he held positions such as Additional General Manager at Naval Dockyard Mumbai and Principal Director of Marine Engineering at Naval Headquarters.
