About International Solar Alliance (ISA)
Establishment: ISA was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and then President of France Francois Hollande on 30 November 2015 during the COP21 summit in Paris.
Objective: Its main objective is to promote the use of solar energy and develop clean, affordable and reliable systems in the energy sector. ISA aims to help member countries ensure energy security and tackle climate change.
Headquarters: Its headquarters is located in Gurugram, Haryana, India. It is the only international organization headquartered in India.
Function: ISA works on promoting investment in solar energy, reducing technology and financial costs, and strengthening collective efforts through policy cooperation.
